OwnKeep is an offline-first app for keeping the records of things you own — warranties, receipts, serial numbers, documents, service history, payments and reminders. Your library is stored on your device. We do not run an account system, and we do not collect, sell or share your ownership information.
This app ("OwnKeep", "the app", package com.ownkeep.app) is
published by the developer listed on its Google Play store page ("we", "us").
You can reach us at the email address in the Contact
section below.
Everything you add to OwnKeep is written to storage that is private to the app on your device:
This data is not transmitted to us and is not stored on any server we control. It is not backed up to us. It stays on the device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or export it yourself.
Note: if you have Android's system backup enabled for the app, Android may include the app's data in your own Google account backup. That is controlled by your device settings, not by OwnKeep, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
The free version of OwnKeep shows a single banner ad, served by Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK included in the app may collect and process:
This information is collected by Google as an independent controller and is used to serve and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same ad. We do not receive your receipts, item data or personal library from AdMob, and your OwnKeep library is never used for ad targeting.
For more on how Google uses this data, see:
If you are in a region that requires it, OwnKeep uses Google's consent management (the UMP SDK) to ask, on first launch, whether you agree to personalised ads. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the consent option in the app. Where you decline, ads are limited to non-personalised ads, which still require basic requests to Google's ad servers.
You can remove ads by purchasing the ad-free / Premium option from within the app (Settings → Remove ads). Purchases are processed by Google Play; we do not receive your payment card details. When ads are removed, the ads SDK no longer requests ads.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | Requested only when you choose to photograph an item or receipt. Photos are saved into the app's private storage. |
| Notifications | To show reminders you create (warranty expiry, renewals, services due). |
| Internet / network access | Used by the Google AdMob SDK to load ads and the consent form. The app has no other network features that send your data off the device. |
| Run at startup (boot completed) | To re-register your scheduled reminders after the device restarts. |
OwnKeep can generate a CSV of your library or a PDF record for a single item (for insurance claims, resale or warranty service). These files are created on your device and are only shared if you send them somewhere using Android's share sheet. We are not involved in and do not receive those files.
The current release does not upload your library to any OwnKeep server. Any "Cloud Sync" area shown in the app is not yet active. If we introduce an optional cloud backup or multi-device sync in a future version, it will be off by default, and we will update this policy to describe what is stored and where before that feature is enabled.
OwnKeep is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We do not hold your library, so we have nothing to retain or delete on our side. On your device, data is kept in app-private storage that other apps cannot read. No method of electronic storage is completely secure; keeping your device locked and up to date is the best protection for the information in OwnKeep.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be reflected in the app's store listing.
